MY TOP BADASS CELEBS OF THE YEAR - 2018

I know, I know; I'm late and have been incredibly absent from posting on my blog. I am trying, believe me.
Every year, I create this blog post highlighting my favourite people of the year and those that I feel have done so well, whether with their career, charity or just being a great human being throughout the year, and usually I do this in two parts; one around September-time and another right at the end of December, however this year I have decided to do just one post at the end of the year . Typically, I highlight solely women and their accomplishments throughout the year, however I started to think about people and celebrities as a general, and who I have seen reach higher goals this year than they have before, and I thought it wasn't really fair that I only focused on the female accomplishments of 2018.

With that being said, this is a list of my top badass women from 2018 who I think absolutely dominated last year, with their work and great positive attitude.

Ariana Grande
We all know the queen of the year has to be Ariana. She suffered a great deal of drama throughout the year (as if 2017 wasn't bad enough for her), however completely annihilated her year with her music and career choices. Her album, 'Sweetener', did incredibly well, however it was her album 'Thank U, Next' that broke records and topped all the charts globally. She's still going strong in 2019 with her '7 Rings' single, and releasing a new album just 6 months after her last in 2018. The girl is investing all her efforts in to her music and I am living for it.

Willow Smith
Willow has always been one of my favourite "celebrities" in the public eye, as from such a young age she has constantly been wise upon her years. She recently became a "panelist" on 'Red Table Talk' with her mother and grandmother, and it is honestly one of my favourite internet series. They touch upon so many different topics, from commenting on the R-Kelly situation to how to deal with expectations and labels. It is incredibly enlightening, and to see such a young mind be so wise on topics that you would typically say is not "suitable" for younger generations to weigh in on until they are older, is so empowering. She is a great role model for the younger generations.

Halsey
If there is one badass woman that doesn't conform to what anyone says its Halsey. She constantly faces criticism online without being given the chance for justifications, but that doesn't stop her from being the incredible person she is. She is such a talented musician and stands true to who she is, which is why she is such a great idol to so many of her young fans that may feel as though they don't fit in to the crowd. She really makes an effort to push the message that you can be whoever you want to be and who cares what people think, and she's still doing it year after year.

Sommer Ray
Sommer Ray has literally built her empire from the ground, becoming a famous fitness mogul online, with millions of followers on Instagram. She promotes healthy living and lifestyles and shares all of her intellect with her followers to help them all out. She is constantly positive and a complete ray of sunshine, promoting to her followers what a happy lifestyle looks like. As much as many other Instagram models mention how they hate eating healthy and exercising but they have to do it, Sommer is always one to express how much she loves fitness, coming from a strong fitness background. Pushing this positive mentality and building her own empire is exactly what is needed to reach her large audience and help them find new ways to embrace happiness.

Madison Beer
With her career starting to finally take off, 2018 was definitely Madison's year. She released her new single, 'Hurts Like Hell', which did incredibly well, as she gained a large following online. She is so incredibly sweet and shows that, although she may be a huge pop sensation, she always makes time to talk to her fans and express to them how grateful she is. She is such a lovely person inside and out and is a great role model of how to stay humble even with fame.

Lauren Jauregui
Splitting from a world-famous pop group must have been a hard step for Lauren to take, however she showed in 2018 that she is ready to fly solo and be the incredible artist that she is. I have always expressed my love for Lauren as she always stands by what she believes in and is not afraid to voice her opinions, especially when it comes to politics, however the way she has taken charge of her career, splitting from the major label she was under and starting fresh as an individual is the type of badass woman that is admirable. She will carry on being an amazing woman that is a great idol to all.

Miley Cyrus
Miley has been my idol since I was about 12 years old and she's not going to stop being it now. 2018 saw her marry her sweetheart and gave us a new album, and she's still been doing so well with her foundations and career, and even with the horrific wildfires that burnt down her home, she still remained positive and spread her great messages of love and acceptance to the world. She has always been such a free-spirit and is a great role model, no matter how much negative press she may receive. She always stays true to herself and never hides who she is, which is incredibly brave within the public eye, and is so inspirational. Miley will always be a badass and my greatest idol.
