The BRIT Awards 2018 - Best Dressed

The 2018 BRIT Awards aired last night on ITV and I cannot be prouder of all the women in attendance from last night. As well as all of them looking extremely fabulous, all of them stepped out and supported the #TimesUp movement by carrying or wearing a single white rose. It has been incredible watching the support and fight that everyone has been pushing to stop sexual harrassment, injustice and inequality in the workplace and in life in general, and I am so proud to be watching those (as young as 14 YEARS OLD) stand up for those that have suffered around the world.

Now on to the fashion side, I was incredibly impressed by the turn out on this year's red carpet for the event. Everyone seemed to bring their A-game, but I wanted to point out some of my favourite looks from the BRITs and how great they looked last night.

6. Millie Bobby Brown
Having only just turned 14, Millie is probably one of my biggest style icons of the moment. She looked so elegant in her polka-dot gown last night and cute floral embellishment, and she has emitted her style incredibly, not only just last night on the red carpet but recently in every appearance she has made. What I love about her is that she knows how to dress her age, she has never once exploited herself through fashion which you seem to get quite regularly with the younger generation once they start gaining more spotlight, but Millie is one of the greatest idols for younger girls because she is so elegant and poise and isn't afraid to speak her mind. I JUST WANT TO BE HER FRIEND.

5. Ella Eyre
I always seem to find Ella as one of my 'best dressed' of red carpet events, just because her style is so effortless. This "suit dress" is a popular statement recently at award shows and she has pulled it off incredibly with this look. The ruffled sleeves, short bottom and low cut top makes this on-trend look more wearable for everyday, street-style fashion, and I think we will start seeing items like this in high street stores in the future. One thing I wasn't keen on was her shoes, but I am willing to overlook them due to how fabulous her dress is, her "no-makeup" makeup look which seems to be a popular trend for SS18 and her amazing hair which I am so jealous of.

4. Jade Thirwall
Okay. So I am in love with this whole look that Jade has put together. Not only is the dress INCREDIBLE and flatters her figure amazingly, but her whole outfit/makeup/hair/rose combo just look so romantic altogether. By wearing a black dress with the red lip, she adds the classic look back to the carpet and makes it all look so effortless. What's more, her boyfriend is literally the most beautiful person I've ever seen (soz, Jade). Although it was a shame that Little Mix walked away empty-handed, they definitely won with their looks as all girls (as always) looked beautiful on the night and looked like such a great team altogether.

3. Leigh-Anne Pinnock
What I am loving most about Leigh-Anne's look is the "bathroom-chic" style that has been gracing the red carpet recently and the 'dressing gown dresses' that have been on-trend this season. The draping, open dresses that resemble bath robes are sweeping the celebrity fashion scene, and Leigh-Anne has managed to pull it off tremendously. The white, off-shoulder look is how it is perfected to be that effortless look, and the shoes are to die for (honestly my favourite of the night altogether). Polka-dots seem to be coming back in to fashion, being sported by both the likes of Leigh-Anne and Millie Bobby Brown, everything about this look screams high-end fashion. Her hair looks perfect with the look, also, and she is also following suit with the 'barely-there' makeup trend, which I am LOVING (just wishing I had great skin to pull it off too, sigh).

2. Dua Lipa
NOW THE QUEEN OF THE BRITS 2018 HAS TO BE DUA LIPA. She completely demolished her competition, won some incredible awards, put on an amazing performance AND wowed on the red carpet. Not only was this pastel pink tulle dress every little girls fantasy (let's be honest, probably everyone on top of that), but she made it look incredibly effortless by pairing it with subtle makeup, minimal jewellery, and the single (yet powerful) white rose, pulling all eyes to the dress. Don't be fooled, although the dress was EVERYTHING, Dua never let it upstage her, with her always wearing the dress, never the dress wearing her.
I just wanted to also point out that her second outfit of the night when receiving her first award was also one of my favourites (but focusing on red carpet it doesn't count, sigh). Also, let's not forget her iconic bodysuit worn during her on-stage performance.

1. Maya Jama
My winner of best dressed out of every person seen on the red carpet has to go this year to Maya Jama. I am in love with this outfit as it epitomises everything that is on-trend this season. Like Ella Eyre's suit-style dress, Maya has gone for the same style, and the cut is incredibly similar with the flared sleeves, short bottom and low top, but adding that little extra with the padded shoulders which adds that bit of formality to the look. Obviously the best part about this dress is the colour, and following Dua's footsteps pink is definitely a colour to look for going in to SS18. The glitter adds that bit of fun to the outfit, as well as making it great for such an amazing celebration, and the matching lip colour pulls the whole thing together. The choice of jewellery is different this year to most of those on the carpet who went for the minimalist look, but I love the choice and think this is the best she has ever looked (although, let's be real, I've never seen her NOT looking great).
